Las Vegas, Nevada - San Diego, CA - Cabo san Lucas, Mexico - Mexico City, Mexico

For the first time in a long time, we are not getting up before dawn to start flying. We stayed up late to see the sights of Las Vegas. The pictures are down below.

Today is also the last day my brother will be flying with me. He needs to go home, so after our flight to Hoover Dam, I'm going to drop him off in San Diego, and them I'll continue on my way south towards Mexico City.

It's a beautiful morning as we take off towards Lake Mead. Hoover Dam is easy to find, just follow Lake Mead until the end. We are going to fly over it going south, then after a few miles, we will drop and turn north and fly up through the canyon towards the dam.

We managed to survive that bit of stupidity, in spite of the really bad turbulence in the canyon. We did get a nice shot as we climbed out.

From there, we flew back over Las Vegas again, to get a view of the strip during the day. It's not nearly as impressive as it is at night.

After flying over Las Vegas, we headed for San Diego. The flight down was too short. I'm going to miss having my brother in here to keep me company. We landed at Brown Muni, and I helped him load his stuff into a cab while the plane was refueled. It didn't take long to gas up, being that we hadn't burned much on the way here. I watched the cab leave, and headed back to the plane, ready for the next two legs of the trip.

The weather heading south towards Cabo san Lucas was nice, but the turbulence certainly wasn't. I tried climbing as high as 17,000 feet to escape it but it was there almost the entire flight. There was a lot of traffic going in and out of Cabo. I was the second one in, and behind me were 3 other planes, including a 737 at the end. I landed and refueled, not wanting to waste any time before getting back in the air. I was 3rd in line to take off, and we were all waiting for that 737 to crawl off the runway. Finally, it was out of the way, and everyone was finally allowed to take off.

The weather for the last leg of the flight was pretty good, although it seemed to get dark to quick. I guess time zones in this world are screwed up. Anyways, it was a quiet flight to Mexico City. I set up for my landing at MMTO, and was cleared, but there was a 737 on the runway, pointing at me! The tower told me to go around, and so I did. While I went around, two other planes landed and another took off. My second time around everything was fine. I landed and parked for the night. Now to figure out where to go tomorrow.
