Day 25
Saturday, 17 November, 2001
After we get to Tokyo, we are going to go sightseeing for a day or two, before continuing north and east towards Alaska.
The flight out was dark, but otherwise was ok. The sun rose about 20 minutes into the flight, as we hit 13,000 feet. Asit got lighter out, we could see that there were some clouds, but not too many. There was a layer of fog covering a lot of some islands, especially as we got closer to mainland Japan.
I'm very suprised there isn't much more aircraft activity as we get closer to Tokyo. We are the only one coming in to Atsugi, and there is very little chatter at all at Tokyo Center.
We line up for the approach to runway 1, and as we pass over the coast, we can see downtown Tokyo rising in the distance to the east. It's a non-descript landing, and we taxi over to GA parking, where we will be for a while.
We're going to do land-based sightseeing today, and then tomorrow afternoon, a short flight over the city to another airport, where we will spend the night. After that, it's onward towards home.
