Day 20
Monday, 12 November, 2001
I apologize for the lack of updates the past few days. It seems my brother tried to go play with some of the local critters here in Perth, and got himself arrested. I haven't had time getting the pictures done, as I've spent most of it on the phone with the US Consolate, trying to figure out how to get him out of jail. He has been released with a stern warning from the local magistrate. The next few days will find us flying over the southern shores of Australia to Adelaide, Melbourne, Wagga Wagga and then to Sydney for a day or two. Then it will be up the east coast, to the Phillipines and then Taiwan, Japan and possibly even the eastern coast of Russia before getting to Alaska, and then down the west coast of North America down to South America.
I had been tempted to try to fly to Antarctica, but I don't know of any place to refuel down there. One benefit of flying in the southern hemisphere right now is that it is spring, and the days are longer than the nights. That is something that could prove to be a problem up north when we get there.
Anyways, it's on to the rest of the trip. I'll get some new pictures up soon. There really hasn't been too much to see in Australia so far. I hope that changes as we head east.
