Mount Arlington Public Library [Raccoons from Mars]
..Egg of Mu
..Snow Queen
..Das boot
The farther one travels -
The less one knows.
It is a known fact that an onion has 5000 layers.**
The layers of the Big Wet Egg of Mu are infinite. The ovoid casing that Betty, the Goddess of Mu, had wrought was destined to erupt. And thus was spewed the horrid miasma of reality, hither and yon. And so the Children of Mu were released.
Now it came to pass that the first two children were Flo and Ed.
For forty years and forty nights they flew around blindly, seeking only nourishment and the company of strangers. And all the while, the Egg was peeling.
Then - one day - evolution stepped in and they began to engage in conversation.
Flo:I remember something my mother once told me.
Ed:Oh? You had a mother?
Flo: Yes. She told me, 'If you turn out all the lights in the house, be sure you know where the stairwell is.'
Ed: Sssh! Be still! There's a raccoon behind you!
Flo:[awhispering] -My! Things are moving apace!
Ed: We must build a refuge where we may abide in peace!
Flo: Can we have a stairwell?
Ed: We must establish a haven for....for.....
Flo: For the children!
Ed:....for the children!...
Flo: And we'll call it the Stairwell of Mu!
Ed: We'll see.
