These governments in our area have mounted tax forms; most pages also include questions and answers and phone numbers you can call:
The Federation of Tax Administrators offers a complete list of links to all state tax agencies. If this site is busy, you can go directly to the state's homepage. State homepages follow a uniform adress format: http://www.state.INITIALS.us using postal initials. New Jersey, for example, is http://www.state.nj.us and Massachusetts is http://www.state.ma.us. Once you connect, look for the Treasury, Taxation or Revenue department.

You can get tax forms online. Most are posted in either pdf (portable document format) or ps (postscript) format. You will need viewers/interpreters to use these files. For pdf files, download Acrobat Reader from Adobe. Many of the tax sites also link to the right reader for these forms. If you do not have a postscript printer, you will need an interpreter for the ps files. Ghostscript is one of the more popular. Go to shareware.com and search for Postscript interpreter. As always, you use share- or freeware at your own risk!
Need more information? Findlaw's Tax Law pages lists dozens of links to information from accounting firms, business schools and legal firms. Much of this information is free.
