query: I'm interested in buying a house in Somewhere and was looking to find some information on some adjoining lots - how are they zoned, are there any plans to build on them. Can I find this information at the county library?
reply: Yes, we have the tax maps..let me know what block > and lot you are looking at and I'll pull the info on the adjacent lots. > [if you don't have block/lot number, the street and address number will > do]
Patron responds: Gee you work late. I just wanted to ensure I had the right library before I headed out there. The surronding lots I am interested in are in tax block XX. The tax lots are a, b, and c.10 The house we're thinking of buying is XX Something St (which is lot c.09). Thank you very much for your help.

I am researching into the typical retirement homes in the U.S. Things I am most interested in are actual data indicating average ages of residents, cost (one time and monthly), units, amenities, qualifications, income of residents, etc. I am also interested in the industry data, i.e. total number of retirement homes, residents, list of businesses running these facilities, etc. Anything you can do will be most appreciated. Thanks once again.

query: Until recently, for the past several years I ran ProCom plus on a 486 machine and had no trouble accessing your library catalogue. A few months ago I purchased a new computer which runs Netscape, and I can't get into your catalogue because, I'm told, it doesn't support telnet. My old copy of ProCom won't run properly on the new machine. Is there a way to find a telnet program without purchasing a new version of ProCom, which is expensive.

query: Our local county newspaper, The Bergen Record, runs a weekly column of real estate transactions, i.e., "Paramus, 10 Main Street, Mary Jones to Bob Smith, $200,000." Are there any similar resources in Morris County? I am particularly interested in real estate transactions in the X area.

I am trying to locate a listing of senior centers in the various New Jersey counties and would be grateful for any assistance you may be able to provide. We offer a cultural recreation program in New York City providing luncheon and show featuring active performers from Broadway, TV, Film and recordings. We have a large following among senior centers in New York City and from many cities throughout the northeast. We also have served a number in New Jersey but have to date been unable to locate current listings of centers and organizations that would enable us to include significant participation from your country and state. Hoping you can help and with thanks for your consideration
