Got dates of obits from local library that keeps this file; printed obits, mailed to patron. Declined generous offer of donation; told him/her to drop an e-mail to our governing body if (s)he insisted on doing something!

Hi! I am working on my family history and know that my first relative to come to the U.S. was X and he settled in Y in 1732. Can you direct me to any places I could get some information about him or X Township?
Advised current geography of location, indicated family members listed in Revolutionary Pension records, gave reference to family history found in another library. Patron really needs to "come in" but Mexico is not conveniently close!

query: I am doing research on the telegraph and I am looking for information on a Mr. William Baxter of Morristown, NJ. Mr. Baxter assisted Alfred Vail and Samuel Morse with the telegraph in 1837 at the Speedwell Iron Works. Do you have any info on Mr. Baxter?
Provided brief references from book on Speedwell Village; also called museum there...they indicated they had already dealt with patron. Found one citation in NYTimes, 1850s, which refers to article by Baxter...mailed Times piece to patron.

Gave patron citation to Times article on translation of New Testament; patron said wrong article...*had* to be 1988...did not find any other Times piece, but described for patron 12.87 article in National Geographic on the Sea Islands.

Advised as to Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, which took new "Red" Russian government out of WWI ..patron replied, no, it ws in 1920. Review of 1920 NYTimes Index shows three pages on "Bolshevik" invasion of, explusion from Poland (July-Sept 1920)...advised patron as to highlight dates, battles, suggested coming in to use film.

I have been working on this family history off and on for 10 years and I'm still stuck on the same thing.....What happen to X Sr from the time he arrived off the Ship Neptune 24Sept.1754 with two other Xs T---- and J-----. I have found the in Early census records as being in Long Valley N. J. But my biggest concerns are who was G-----s his wife, when he got married,where that took place and it has always been said that he was from Germany but I have never been able to prove it, I have never been able to get a hold of his naturalization papers.[snip]
Naturalization papers in 1754?! Referred to genealogy librarian.
