How to separate your recycling
CONTAINERS GLASS/ALUMINUM/STEEL
CANS/PLASTIC. Aluminum cans; steel cans used to store food and beverages;
empty, open paint cans; empty aerosol cans that did not contain pesticides
nor insecticides; all glass containers (rinsed with caps removed) used
for packaging food or beverages; plastics: PETE #1 and HDPE #2 bottles
(soda, milk, water or detergent). Placed in a rigid, reusable container.
Do not include lights bulbs, mirrors, drinking glasses, ceramic, window
glass, aluminum pie plates, plastic tubs, plastic bags, motor oil or anti-freeze
containers.
NEWSPAPER AND INSERTS. Tied in bundles no greater than 10" high.
MIXED PAPER/PAPERBOARD/CARDBOARD Magazines; junk mail; mixed office
paper; slick paper; carbonless paper; books with hard covers removed; manila
folders; gray/brown/white paperboard such as cereal and gift boxes, paper
egg cartons and paper towel cores; brown bags and corrugated cardboard.
Boxes should be flattened. Place in a rigid, reusable container or
into brown bags. Large cardboard shipping containers must be flattened
and tied in bundles. Do not include telephone books, carbon paper,
6-pack holders, or plastic bags.
ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER. In order to afford our residents greater
opportunity to recycle, recyclables may be brought to the Environmental
Center every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
