Day Camp: Summer is just around the corner and so is the 2000 Day Camp Season. Boys and girls entering the 1st through 6th grades in September 2000, are eligible to participate in the Day Camp, which is held daily, except when it rains, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Community Center.  Camp will only close if severe weather conditions are present.  Camp is tentatively scheduled to begin on Monday, June 26th, and run through Friday, August 4th. Camp will be closed on Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday July 4th.  The daily morning schedule includes art, sports, games, and crafts instruction.  The afternoon schedule consists of electives, where the campers choose the activities that they would like to participate in.  Some of the choices include: art, dance, jewelry making, paint explorations, science, newspaper, cooking, sports, drama, vocal, playground games, crafts, cheerleading, library, tot lot, board games, and music.  Other afternoons will be loaded with fun, as the entire camp participates in activities such as a water fun day, a Halloween party, field day, a quiz show, a comedy show, a scavenger hunt, a treasure hunt, a watermelon hunt,  and other special events. Campers will swim twice a week at the Borough Pool. All camp groups will participate in the Camp Show, at the culmination of the session. An after camp Enrichment Program will run Monday-Thursday from 3:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. for those campers that love camp activities or for working parents.  This is an additional fee.  Campers may participate 2, 3, or 4 days per week. After camp programs take place indoors.
For an additional fee, hot lunches will again be available for campers.  All lunch orders need to be placed one week in advance.
Registrations will be accepted at the recreation office beginning April 10, 2000.  Registrations will also be accepted on Saturday May 13th from 9:30-11:30 at the Community Center. The deadline for registration is Friday, May 26, 2000, after which a late fee of $50.00 per child will be added to the fee. NO REGISTRATIONS will be accepted after June 9, 2000!  All required emergency and immunization information on the form must be completed.

GOLF - A limited number of memberships for the Millburn Township Par 3 Golf Course are available for Florham Park residents.  Two different types of memberships are available to be purchased, a "Limited Membership", which has specific hours of use and a "Full Membership" which allows for play at any time.  A photograph is necessary that will be placed on the membership I.D. Card.  Members must be 21 years of age or older and children under the age of 13 are not eligible to play on the Course as guests according to Millburn Township Golf Course rules.  Call the Recreation Office for more information.

LITTLE LEAGUE - Opening Day ceremonies are scheduled for Saturday, April 8th.  The day will begin with the Little League Parade from Holy Family parking lot to Emmett Field where official ceremonies and presentation of awards will take place.  Following these ceremonies, festivities including rides, games, face painting and more will take place throughout the day. The rain date for the event is Saturday, April 15th.

AEROBICS - Florham Park women are invited to join Arline Ruban's aerobic classes on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Community Center.  The program meets from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  for 10 week sessions.  The fee for the program is $25.00
STEP-AEROBICS - Step-aerobic classes under the direction of Sharon Carpenter are held on Monday and Thursday mornings at 9:15 a.m. at the Community Center.  Each class includes a warm-up, a 35-40 minute step aerobic segment, weighted lower body and upper body exercises, abdominals and cool-down.  Participants can "pay as you go" at $3.00 per class or register for the entire session.  Each participant must bring their own step; wear comfortable clothes and supportive sneakers.

The Florham Park Recreation Commission will be offering several children's classes for the spring of 2000.  Registration for the spring classes begins on Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at the Recreation Office.  The classes have limited space available and are filled on a first come, first serve basis. SPRING CRAFTS: Come join your friends for this four-week spring arts and crafts class.  Children ages 3-8 are invited to become creatively engaged in an arts and craft project each week.  This class uses many different types of mediums!  All classes meet on Thursdays beginning April 6, 2000 (Class dates: 4/6, 4/13, 5/4, 5/11). Fee: $25.00.   Pre K 3 meets from 1:00-1:45, Pre K 4 meets from 2:00-3:00, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade meets from 3:15-4:15.

ROMP N ROLL: This class is for children ages 3-7 who squirm, wiggle, and giggle! The focus of this class is motor development in a fun and challenging environment. All classes are developmentally appropriate.  Learn to juggle, play on stilts, scooters, obstacle courses, dance, tumble, wacky balls, balance beams and more! All classes meet on Mondays beginning April 3, 2000, run for four weeks, and are one hour in length.  (Class dates: 4/3, 4/10, 5/1, 5/8) Fee: $25.00.  Pre-K 3 meet from 12:45-1:45, Pre K 4 mees from 2:00-3:00, Kindergarten and 1st Grade meet from 3:15-4:15 p.m..

COOKING ART: Children ages 8 thru 11 are welcome to participate in this four -week cooking class.  The projects in cooking art allow children to discover the exciting art possibilities in food and to create projects they can eat or serve to others.  Cooking art thrives on experimenting, creating and exploring! Classes meet on Wednesdays beginning April 5, 2000, are one hour in length, and run for four weeks. (Class dates: 4/5, 4/12, 5/3, 5/10) Fee: $25.00.

EASTER ARTS & CRAFTS: Come join your friends in creating two Easter  crafts.  Bunnies will be the topic! This class meets once and is one hour in length. Fee: $7.00.
Pre K 3 meets Friday, April 14, 2000 from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
Pre K 4 meets Monday, April 17, 2000 from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
Kindergarten meets Friday, April 14, 2000 from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
