THE CONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT Regular office hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, weekday evening hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays are available from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again on Saturday mornings from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.
  Homeowners and Contractors are encouraged to use these extended hours to meet with the Construction Official.  Appointments are not necessary to meet with the Construction Official, but suggested.  Anyone wishing to schedule an appointment or an inspection may do so by calling 201-377-2964.
  Residents are reminded than any addition or alteration including, but not limited to:  roofs, decks, siding and furnace/hot water heater replacements require construction permits and inspections.  Permit applications are available at the Municipal Building located at 111 Ridgedale Avenue during the hours listed above. Persons who decide not to partake of the permit process may be subjected to monetary penalties of up to $500.00 per week for failure to obtain the necessary permits and/or inspection(s).
  Although not in the business of design, the Construction Department is willing to give guidance to the public with regard to construction related matters.
